Our students score well above the national average in TerraNova testing. On the TerraNova tests administered during the most recent school year, our students scored 27.5 points above the national average for language, 26.0 points above the national average for reading, and 23.7 points above the national average for math. Overall, Saint Mary Catholic School students achieved a total score 26.3 points above the national average.
These scores are solely the mark of our students’ achievements
At Saint Mary, we don’t focus on “teaching to the test.” We believe that children need to be skilled at applying knowledge, so our curriculum balances the teaching of basic skills—such as math, writing, and grammar—with the development of higher-order thinking skills.Technology is fully integrated into our curriculum. To us, a quality educational program is rigorous and relevant, as well as religious. We believe that if you execute these things well, the tests will take care of themselves.
Of course, as proud as we are of our students’ achievements, we seek more than their academic success. Our goal is to have each student realize their intellectual, as well as their life potential. We want to help our students understand and recognize how they can use their talents to help accomplish our Lord’s mission on earth. We strive to enable each person in our school community to come to know, love, and serve God through their daily interactions. Want to learn more? Contact us here.
